The Cherry Hill Phillies got the 2012 campaign off on the right foot by notching a 6-3 victory over the new look Whistler's Inn team skippered by Mark Wickersham. Reigning 2 time Pitcher of the Year Justin Breen held court and worked 7 stellar innings picking up 11 strikeouts along the way. He was nearly matched by Whistlers hurler Nick Berardinucci who also went 7 innings and racked up 10 K's on the afternoon. Phillies slugger Kyle Down paced Mike Melissas Sr.'s team with a 3 for 3, 2 run performance while Brandon Elliot represented for Whistler's by notching 2 hits including and 2 RBI's.
Whistler's Inn will host the St. Ann's Angels Sunday at the refurbished Bob Kenney Field in Riverside while Cherry Hill plays host to the Sewell Threshers at Cherry Hill West Babe Ruth. Both games are a 12:30 starts.
